How to Make a Cylinder out of Cardboard
A cylinder is a geometric surface formed by the points at a fixed distance from a given straight line, forming what's called the axis of a cylinder. The solid surface of the two bases joined by the height that's formed by two perpendicular lines to the axis, is also called a cylinder. Below, we'll show you step-by-step, how to make a cylinder out of cardboard.
Copy this template of a cylinder on paper, cardboard or poster board.
Cut out the template for the cylinder with scissors.
Fold along all the lines of the template. Try assembling the cylinder before gluing it, to be sure where each piece goes.
First of all, put glue on the long flap to form the tube.
You almost have the tube of the cylinder done! Now, put glue on the small pieces, (the triangles), to paste one of the bases.
Use a pen or marker pen to press the triangles down so they're well glued.
Now, put glue on the remaining triangles and paste them to the other base of the cylinder. To help it stick better, turn the cylinder a little, putting slight pressure on the triangles. Your cylinder is all done!

- If you're not good at drawing, copy the image of the template and paste it into a Word document. Make it as large as you'd like and then print it.
- You can make your cylinder with a coloured poster board if you like. Choose the colour you like most!
- It's recommended that before you start gluing, try to assemble the cylinder to see if everything fits together. If the proportions are correct and it fits together, you can start putting glue on each triangle and pasting it. Do this on the rest of the triangles.
