How To Make A Phone Holder Out Of A Lotion Bottle
If you want to plug in your phone and you don't have a table on which to rest it, it's worth considering using a phone holder. Instead of leaving your phone laying about on the floor or on your table tops where it's likely to be stepped on or taken by some nosy children, you could make your very own phone holder out of a lotion bottle without paying a penny!
You'll need:
- Scissors
- A Stanley knife
- A marker pen
- A ruler
Steps to follow:
First of all, make sure you have all the necessary materials to make your phone holder: a plastic bottle (we recommend using an old lotion or shampoo bottle and removing the label); a ruler, a marker pen, a Stanley knife and a pair of scissors.
Place your phone on top of the plastic lotion bottle to measure the height of the mobile phone. Bear in mind that the average phone is around 10 cm (4 in) in length.
Then, simply draw a line o n the bottle ready for you to cut. This line will be about 7 cm (2.75 in) more than the length of the mobile, e.g. for a 10 cm-long mobile, you'll need to cut to 17 cm (6.75 in). With this in mind, make sure you use a narrow and long lotion bottle.
Once you've cut along this line, draw another 9 cm (3.5 in) line, a little shorter than the length of your mobile. Do this on one side of your lotion bottle only.
On the other side (the side you haven't cut), draw the shape of the plug, making sure it's the correct size. This hole will be used to hang the mobile phone holder. Use a Stanley knife to carefully cut the plastic to make this hole, as shown in the photo.
