The next step will be to apply two coats of acrylic color of your choice, and allow it to dry. The most common colors used to paint diyas are red, yellow and turquoise blue, but you can paint it in whichever color you prefer.

Note that lighter colors are best if you want to give your diya more contrast as you can play with darker colors on top, especially if you are using sparkle glue.

Once the acrylic coats of paint have dried, draw a creative design or motif around the diya so you can then trace it with the sparkle glue.

Use sparkle glue to make your attractive design on the inside and outside of the diya, and allow it to dry.

4

The next step to create your DIY diya is to stick the kundan or rhine stones of your choice with glue, and make an eye-catching pattern that you like. Make sure it is symmetrical for a more attractive finish.
